Winter Days

Fuyu no hi - Giorni d'inverno è un film complicato da descrivere. Consiste in una sequenza di 36 corti di breve durata, ciascuno realizzato da un diverso autore a cui è stata lasciata completa libertà creativa. Ogni corto è la trasposizione animata della strofa di una poesia, intitolata appunto "Giorni d'inverno", anch'essa creata in modo collaborativo da più autori. La poesia è infatti un renku, cioè un'opera in cui diversi poeti si alternano a comporre versi collegati con quelli del collega precedente. Il primo poeta (Bashō) compone l'introduzione e i primi due versi; il partecipante successivo riprende questi due versi e ne ricontestualizza il significato utilizzandoli come punto di partenza per creare la propria strofa, aggiungendo altri due o tre versi. A sua volta il poeta successivo utilizzerà gli ultimi versi del suo predecessore per iniziare la propria composizione; e così via, alternandosi a turno.
