64: Part 2

1989: 64th and last year of the Showa era. A girl is kidnapped and killed. The unsolved case is called Case 64 ('rokuyon'). 2002: Yoshinobu Mikami, who was the detective in charge of the Case 64, moves as a Public Relations Officer in the Police Affairs Department. His relation with the reporters is conflicted and his own daughter is missing. The statute of limitations for the Case 64 will expire in one year. Then a kidnapping case, similar to the Case 64, takes place. The rift between the criminal investigation department and police administration department deepens. Mikami challenges the case as a public relations secretary.

The Imposter

With the cast list, you would almost expect this to be another Chang Cheh film. Two of Chang's proteges, David Chiang and Chen Kuan-tai go head-to-head in The Imposter which sees cinematographer Pao Hsueh-li back in the director's chair. Chiang plays Ko Liang, as master of disguise who puts his seven faces to good use when he goes to the aid of two young guardsmen Tseng Yung (Danny Lee) and Tseng Kan (Wang Chung) who have been framed by Captain Lo (Chen Kuan-tai) for murder.

Una nave giapponese è stata travolta da un tifone e spinta lontana dalla costa. La squadra del Servizio Soccorso accorre subito per cercare di salvare i superstiti che si trovano in scialuppe sbattute dalla tempesta. Lo speciale aereo della squadra finisce però in mare e tutto sembra perduto. Il colonnello Stevenson, a causa di un vecchio rancore contro i Giapponesi, si rifiuta di mettere a repentaglio la vita del suoi uomini ed i loro equipaggiamenti per soccorrere le scialuppe che stanno lentamente affondando. Stevenson riesce però a vincere i suoi pregiudizi e la difficile operazione di salvataggio viene compiuta. Frattanto, alla base aerea di Ashiya, le mogli e le fidanzate degli uomini della squadra sono in ansiosa attesa.
