L'albero storpio

La pellicola in Super 8, recuperata e digitalizzata dal Laboratorio Multimediale di Ateneo, ha una durata di circa cinquanta minuti e racconta in modo molto efficace e non retorico il passaggio dalla istituzione manicomiale, intesa come luogo di costrizione deputato al “mantenimento dell’ordine sociale”, all’apertura dei centri di igiene mentale e delle case-famiglia, luoghi di cura e di presa in carica del malato. In particolare, il documentario racconta l’esperienza di una piccola comunità in una frazione del Comune di Lamporecchio-Orbignano, in cui alcuni ex degenti dell’ospedale psichiatrico di Pistoia sono stati accolti per tre mesi, prima di essere avviati ai servizi sul territorio. In pratica, con la collaborazione degli enti locali e di comitati cittadini, fu creata una “comunità protetta”, cioè una struttura intermedia tra ospedale e casa-famiglia, in cui gli ospiti potevano gradualmente acquisire autonomia e imparare ad autogestirsi.

Elton John In Concert BBC 1970

In 1970, the BBC broadcast the TV special, Elton John in Concert. The show featured impressive live renditions of songs that would go on to become classics from Elton’s music catalogue, including a version of ‘Burn Down The Mission’. The track is taken from the Tumbleweed Connection album, also released that same year.

The Unanswered Question II : Musical Syntax

This series comprised six lectures on music, which cumulatively took the title of a work by Charles Ives, The Unanswered Question. Bernstein drew analogies to other disciplines, such as poetry, aesthetics, and especially linguistics, hoping to make these lectures accessible to an audience with limited or no musical experience, while maintaining an intelligent level of discourse: Syntax refers to the study of the structural organization of a sentence, or as Bernstein summarizes, "the actual structures that arise from that phonological stuff."

1 Million Zombies: The Story of Plaga Zombie

In 1997, 17-year-old suburban Buenos Aires filmmakers Pablo Parés and Hernan Sáez pooled $450 to co-write/produce/direct and star in a shot-on-VHS zombie epic of such flesh-ripping, gore-spewing greatness that it instantly drew global cult acclaim and redefined the possibilities of extreme DIY horror. The men are identified with the help of the police in Latvia. One of their officers travel to Sweden to to help but when he returns to his home country he is mysteriously murdered. Kurt flies to Riga to find out why and is drawn into complex conspiracy.

Mathukkutty, an unemployed man, lives in Germany with his bossy wife. He is given a chance to travel to Kerala to invite famous actors for an event, but all hell breaks loose after his arrival.

Riki e Luca sono due giovani in cerca di un loro modo di essere al mondo e lo trovano nell’amore che l’uno nutre nell’altro. Una corsa contro il tempo li tiene incatenati al loro destino. I due protagonisti vengono bullizzati da un gruppo di naziskin che si imbattono nella loro esistenza rendendola impossibile. I due però non ci stanno e li sfidano, fino a che, un giorno, i bulli si organizzano e bloccano Luca massacrandolo di botte fino a farlo finire in ospedale in fin di vita. Questo tragico fatto scatena una serie di comportamenti da parte dei genitori di ambedue che renderanno impossibile l’accesso di Riki all’ospedale per stare vicino al suo compagno. Da quel momento in poi nulla è come prima e l’amore che lega i due giovani si trasforma in un rapporto di potere e di rancore dei genitori di Luca nei riguardi di Riki.
