Paperino mentre pota i rami di un albero scorge Cip & Ciop intenti a raccogliere ghiande. Paperino decide di fare loro qualche dispetto terrorizzandoli con il potatoio e poi derubarli delle loro ghiande. I due scoiattoli scoprono presto l'inganno e decidono di contrattaccare facendo prendere a Paperino un grosso sasso che prende scambiandolo per una ghianda dal quale viene colpito in testa. Paperino furioso si getta all'inseguimento di Cip & Ciop i quali si nascondono tra le foglie dei rami. Paperino per stanarli decide di usare un tagliaerba riuscendo a scoprirli tuttavia i due furbi scoiattoli lo fanno finire su dei fili della corrente dove Paperino stupidamente non fa caso continuando fino all'estremità del cavo per poi scoprire con suo sommo dispiacere di essere su un cavo con alta tensione sul quale rimane folgorato cadendo a terra tramortito su delle foglie.
