Panda! Go, panda!

Mimiko è una vispa bambina che vive con la nonna dopo la morte dei suoi genitori. Un giorno la nonna parte per un viaggio improvviso con il treno: è un po' in apprensione per dover abbandonare la bambina da sola e si fa promettere di comportarsi bene e di scrivere una lettera al giorno. Al ritorno a casa Mimiko ha però una sorpresa: nel cortile ci sono due panda, il grosso Papanda e il figlio Pan, appena scappati dallo zoo e che erano stati attratti dal bosco di bambù sul retro della casetta. La bambina, che non ha più il padre, decide quindi che il grosso Papanda diventi suo papà, in cambio lei diventerà la mamma del piccolo Pan. Da quel momento Mimiko si ritrova con una vera famiglia, che non si divide neppure quando i due panda ritornano allo zoo, visto che Papanda e Pan potranno tornare liberamente a trovarla.

Dames at Sea

Dames at Sea is a musical with book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller and music by Jim Wise. The musical is a parody of large, flashy 1930s Busby Berkeley-style movie musicals in which a chorus girl, newly arrived off the bus from the Midwest to New York City, steps into a role on Broadway and becomes a star. It originally played Off-Off-Broadway in 1966 at the Caffe Cino and then played Off-Broadway, starring newcomer Bernadette Peters, beginning in 1968 for a successful run. The television version was broadcast on the Bell System Family Theater on NBC on November 15, 1971. The cast had extra chorus girls and boys, and there were full production numbers, turning into the very thing it was spoofing. Ann Miller was singled out for praise, especially when "she was allowed to tap out her brassy...temperamental star..."

Ketki marries Vinay, who is exploited by hard-nosed businessman Tirpat. Ketki then organizes local women against Tirpat & Co. Her group includes her sister-in-law, who had a run-in with a dangerous priest.

In bootcamp their sergeant turns out to be the same man, whom they constantly vex and bewilder. When the boys are sent to the front lines and the sergeant is captured they must rescue him, which they do after doping themselves with laughing gas. At the end they get shot off into the sunset on a cannon shell.

Snafu

A 14-year-old boy lies about his age and enlists in the United State Marine Corps without his family's consent or knowledge. He is sent into battle in the Pacific war-zone, decorated, and spotted in a newsreel by his family. The family asks the War Department to discharge him and send him home.
