Six Hours: Surviving Typhoon Yolanda

In the middle of a broadcast about Typhoon Yolanda's initial impact, reporter Jiggy Manicad was faced with the reality that he no longer had communication with his station. They were, for all intents and purposes, stranded in Tacloban. With little option, and his crew started the six hour walk to Alto, where the closest broadcast antenna was to be found. Letting the world know what was happening to was a priority, but they were driven by the need to let their families and friends know they were all still alive. Along the way, they encountered residents and victims of the massive typhoon, and with each step it became increasingly clear just how devastating this storm was. This was a storm that was going to change lives.

The Song of the Tree

Esen, a young man who has been expelled from his village, escapes with the daughter of one of the most powerful men in the village. Whilst being pursued, he is forced to fight for her hand in a battle that results in the destruction of a sacred totem tree. This puts the whole village in jeopardy, and it is up to Esen to redeem himself and save them all.

However, Nieri doubts about having the gift that is necessary to become a Marakame. His real dream is to play Mexican country music and to go to Mexico City to play there with his friends.

F.O.T.O.G.R.A.F.

A short film based on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fictional universe, combining the “Picnic to the curb” of the Strugatsky brothers, “Stalker” by Andrei Tarkovsky and the “Exclusion Zone” location around the Chernobyl NPP. According to the scenario, an agent of the peacekeeping forces, nicknamed "The Photographer", arrives in the Zone to prevent a global scale catastrophe, which could be caused by an experiment that went out of control at a scientific lab.

Two brothers, Jack and Tom, are in love with the same woman, Molly. While the two brothers go off to war and Molly does her part in the effort, Tom believes that Rose is waiting for him, while in fact, she loves Jack and only turned to Tom on the rebound. Jack and Molly meet while he is on leave, and when he returns to battle, he doesn't know how to handle the situation with his brother.

Zanskar is a remote kingdom in the northwest Indian Himalaya, where local people are snow-bound for six months of the year. About 10,000 Zanskaris live in the isolated valley. In winter, mountain passes are blocked, the summer Jeep road closes and buses stop. Two decades ago, three friends founded a ski school - to enable winter travel in the valley, improve quality of life, and to encourage young people to stay in Zanskar by helping establish a culture of mountain sports. The film tells the story of this friendship, the ski school and the development of skiing in the area. Along the way a bigger question is raised. Most recently, the federal government announced a major road building project that will provide year round access to Zanskar. How can Zanskar's wilderness be preserved? It is only a matter of time before the winter road is completed, and the "Big India" rushes in.

TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs (2009) was the first annual TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV. It took place on December 13, 2009 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Each main match contained a stipulation utilizing tables, ladders and chairs as legal weapons. The primary matches included Christian challenging Shelton Benjamin in a Ladder match for the ECW Championship, Sheamus challenging John Cena in a Tables match for the WWE Championship, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker, defending his title against Batista in a Chair match and the main event, where Chris Jericho and The Big Show defended against D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. Other matches in the card included John Morrison versus Drew McIntyre for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Michelle McCool versus Mickie James for the WWE Women's Championship and Randy Orton versus Kofi Kingston.

Capitalism: A Love Story

Questa volta Michael Moore prende le mosse da lontano, addirittura dall'Impero Romano, per mostrare come i segnali di decadenza di quella potenza antica siano tutti rintracciabili nella realtà odierna. La domanda è più che mai esplicita e con la risposta già incorporata: quanto è alto il prezzo che il popolo americano paga a causa della confusione operata tra il concetto di Capitalismo e quello di Democrazia? Per Moore i due termini non coincidono anzi sono in più che netta opposizione soprattutto ora, dopo la crisi mondiale di cui tutti paghiamo le conseguenze. Per sostenere la sua tesi questa volta il polemista di Flint (cittadina a cui fa ancora una volta ritorno vent'anni dopo Roger & Me) fa un uso molto più ridotto di gag verbali e visive (anche se non ci risparmia un nuovo doppiaggio del Gesù di Zeffirelli in versione liberistico-sfrenata). Perché questa volta il tema è talmente serio che lo spazio per la risata non può che essere ridotto.

"Maine" è un cortometraggio documentario diretto da studenti di cinema dell'UNIUD (Università degli Studi di Udine). Ritratta la vita di un uomo anziano che dedica il suo tempo a vendere oggetti usati al suo mercatino. È un cortometraggio profondo, che cerca di esplorare temi come il rapporto tra il vecchio e il nuovo, la moda e il vecchio stile, la vecchiaia e la giovinezza.
