All'inizio degli anni Cinquanta, l'orfana Cecilia (15 anni) è rimasta incinta. Per nascondere la gravidanza, l'orfanotrofio decide che Cecilia deve cedere il nascituro a Ida, che desidera disperatamente adottarlo e che vive da sola con la sua domestica Alma in una vecchia villa isolata. Cecilia viene mandata a vivere nella villa per tutta la durata della gravidanza e per un po' le tre donne costituiscono una strana famiglia, dove ognuna di loro trova sollievo alla propria solitudine, al dolore e alla nostalgia. Taking pity on her, they immediately start fixing up the place, turn it into a swanky nightclub, and go all out to impress important columnist Waldo Twitchell on opening night.

Jim Waters arrives at Ed Parks' ranch to find Parks' cattle herd mysteriously increased. Hamp Harvey has been losing cattle and he suspects Parks. But the culprit is Harvey's foreman Brent who gets his orders from the town's leading citizen Sig Barstell. Barstell wants Harvey's ranch and after trying to frame Harvey by killing Parks, Waters takes over and goes after both the killer and the rustlers.

Questo è un ritratto d'ambiente post-neorealista, incerto ma con qualche momento acuto.

Two Days

The story concentrates on a single 48-hour period during the Russian Revolution. The central character, played by Y. E. Samchykovski, is an old servant who staunchly supports the Royal Family. Even when his master is placed in prison and his son is appointed a commissar, the servant remains faithful to the Czarist regime. But when his village is invaded by the White Russian army and his son is summarily executed, the old man realizes that his homeland is far better off in the hands of the revolutionaries, who seek to build rather than destroy. A "cleansing" fire brings this propaganda piece to an appropriately symbolic conclusion.
