Il bell'Antonio

Antonio Magnano, giovane di bella presenza, cui vengono attribuite numerose avventure sentimentali, dopo parecchi anni di permanenza a Roma ritorna alla nativa Catania, dove il padre Alfio gli ha trovato una sposa, Barbara Puglisi. Uniformandosi al volere paterno, Antonio sposa Barbara; ma trascorso un anno, il padre di Barbara dà ad Alfio la notizia che il matrimonio verrà sciolto per le condizioni fisiche del marito. Così avviene, e mentre Barbara sposa il duca di Bronte, uomo anziano, ma ricco; Alfio "per riscattare l'onore della famiglia" riprende a frequentare una casa di appuntamenti e poco dopo muore. La vedova ben presto si consola; la giovane servetta di casa sta per diventare madre e la paternità del nascituro viene attribuita ad Antonio.
