The Lady from Cheyenne

Fictionalized story of the 1869 adoption of women's suffrage in Wyoming Territory. In the new-founded railroad town of Laraville, Boss Jim Cork hopes to manipulate the sale of town lots to give him control, but Quaker schoolmarm Annie Morgan bags one of the key lots. Cork's lawyer Steve Lewis tries romancing Annie to get the lot back, finding her so overpoweringly liberated she leaves him dizzy. Still, Steve attains his nefarious object...almost...then has cause to deeply regret having aroused the sleeping giant of feminism!

Joe dunque convoca Sid Spokance, un regista fanatico dei vecchi divi, lo sceneggiatore Herb Derman ed altri "cervelli" della produzione. Ma sono tentativi vani: nessuno riesce a far brillare uno spunto, ne a tesserci intorno una storia valida, forse anche perché i convocati hanno quasi tutti - ad eccezione proprio di Joe - vite emotive e familiari complicate e rappezzate. Così il film non si farà e, tutto sommato, ognuno capisce in cuor suo che probabilmente si sarebbe andati incontro ad un sicuro insuccesso.

The A.R.M.S. Benefit Concert from London

The idea for hosting the concert was envisaged by Ronnie Lane, ex-bassist for The Small Faces and The Faces, himself a casualty of multiple sclerosis. The concert was billed as The Ronnie Lane Appeal for ARMS and featured a star-studded line-up of British musicians, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, Andy Fairweather Low, Bill Wyman, Kenney Jones and Charlie Watts. The concert was particularly notable in the fact that it was the first occasion on which Clapton, Beck and Page, each a former lead guitarist for The Yardbirds, had performed together on stage.

Footage from her routine, everyday life at the station contrasts with lyrical images of the immaculate Antarctic nature, which the author complements with her own commentary and thoughts provoked by the loneliness of the ice-covered landscape.
