In Turchia, sono protagonisti di una scena alternativa innovativa: il musicista rom altamente virtuoso Hüsnü Şenlendirici sul clarinetto, İsmail Tunçbilek sul Baglama e Aytaç Doğan sul Qānun - il trio Taksim. Con dinamicità e pienezza di emozioni, i tre musicisti di Istanbul uniscono gli elementi della cultura folk turca e musica d'arte con jazz e ritmi pop. Ognuno di loro è un virtuoso ricercato sul suo strumento. Ad esempio, il clarinettista Hüsnü Şenlendirici è regolarmente invitato da Dhafer Youssef come musicista ospite. Ismail Tunçbilek vuole rendere il bağlama uno strumento standard, simile alla chitarra, al violino o al piano.Finché il bağlama suona solo nel suo solito modo, rimarrà uno strumento limitato a livello regionale".Ma se si continua a sviluppare il Bağlama, potrebbe essere incorporato nella scena musicale mondiale, dice Tunçbilek".
