The Allman Brothers Band: 40

Nel 2009, la Allman Brothers Band aveva trasformato la propria line-up che consisteva in Gregg, Jaimoe e Butch, chitarristi Warren Haynes e Derek Trucks, il bassista Oteil Burbridge e Marc Quiñones alle percussioni. Sono trascorsi quattro anni dalle ultime uscite discografiche di B.B. King: l'album in studio “One kind of favor” e quello dal vivo “Live at the BBC”. Un periodo in cui il bluesman si è dedicato a quella che è la sua vera passione: i concerti (se ne contano più di 15.000 nella sua carriera). Il 28 giugno del 2011 ha deciso di aprire la sua ennesima tournée europea dalla Royal Albert Hall di Londra, uno show registrato in alta definizione .Per l'occasione il chitarrista, classe 1925, è stato accompagnato da una serie di amici tra cui spiccano i nomi dell'ex Guns 'n' Roses Slash, Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), Derek Trucks, Ron Wood (Rolling Stones) e Susan Tedeschi: insieme hanno interpretato grandi classici come “Need you so”, “Key to the highway”, “The thrill is gone”, “Rock me baby”, “You are my sunshine” , oltre ad un finale tutti insieme sul palco per una esuberante versione di “When the Saints go marchin’ in”.
