Bach - Il miracolo della musica

Leipzig, December 1734: Christmas brings the Bach family together. The first snow has fallen and the children Gottfried and Elisabeth are delighted about the arrival of their older brothers Friedemann and Emanuel. The Thomaskantor has retired to his music room. Anna Magdalena supports her husband, as there are only a few days left and his latest work, the six-part "Christmas Oratorio", must be finished on time. It is awaited with suspicion by the city council and the gentlemen of the consistory, who have long found Bach's waywardness a thorn in their side and fear that, after the premiere of the St. Matthew Passion a few years earlier, the St. Thomas Church will once again be filled with "operatic" music. With the oratorio, Johann Sebastian Bach hopes that he will finally become court composer in Dresden. And, as always, he demands that all members of the family join forces to help him. But differences of opinion are increasingly delaying the completion of Bach's most famous work.

In 1969, the painter-sculptor Daniel Pommereulle made his third film, this one financed by Sylvina Boissonnas. Although only a short, Vite was one of the most costly of all the Zanzibar productions. It features, for instance, shots of the moon taken by a state-of-the-art telescope, the Questar, that Pommereulle first saw while visiting Marlon Brando in southern California in 1968. In Rohmer’s La Collectionneuse, Pommereulle and his friend Adrien philosophize on how best to achieve le vide (emptiness) during their summer holidays. Cricchetto racconta a Saetta che una volta faceva lo Stunt man e il suo pseudonimo era Cricchetto audace d'impatto (nei fumetti Cricchetto il magnifico), si faceva chiamare così perché la sua prima impresa era stata un salto da una rampa e doveva saltare una lunghissima fila di automobili, però non riuscendo ha camminato sui tettucci delle auto. Ma la sua più grande impresa fu il "Salto di Carburator Canyon" (dover saltare con Saetta il canyon locale della Contea di Carburator con dei razzi legati); Saetta parte ma i suoi razzi a metà salto si spengono. Il tutto termina con Saetta che chiede: «Com'è finita?», e Cricchetto: «C'hai lasciato i cerchioni».

Il professor Craziloff (da "crazy", una sorta di scienziato pazzo) ha brevettato un mezzo che raduna tutte le conoscenze in fatto di trasporto (treno, auto, mongolfiera, sottomarino, ecc.). Con questo organizza uno straordinario viaggio con alcuni compagni, tra i quali un giovane assistente pasticcione. Dopo una tappa in Svizzera, il convoglio usa una montagna come trampolino e arriva in cielo, dove viaggia tra stelle di cartone, animate da avvenenti ballerine. Infine giunge nientemeno che sul Sole. Da qui, dopo alcune avventure, il gruppo riparte tuffandosi verso la terra, dove sprofonda nel mare con la cabina sommergibile, e dove fa un incontro con un mostro marino; infine approda a un porto, dove il gruppo viene riconosciuto dalla popolazione locale e, facendo festa, rientra trionfalmente in città.
