When the Prime Minister tries to shut down the brothel Gilles decides to stand against him in the election.

Working men and women leave through the main gate of the Lumière factory in Lyon, France. Filmed on 22 March 1895, it is often referred to as the first real motion picture ever made, although Louis Le Prince's 1888 Roundhay Garden Scene pre-dated it by seven years. Three separate versions of this film exist, which differ from one another in numerous ways. The first version features a carriage drawn by one horse, while in the second version the carriage is drawn by two horses, and there is no carriage at all in the third version. The clothing style is also different between the three versions, demonstrating the different seasons in which each was filmed. This film was made in the 35 mm format with an aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and at a speed of 16 frames per second. At that rate, the 17 meters of film length provided a duration of 46 seconds, holding a total of 800 frames.

Molto parlato, elegante nel suo snobismo, in mimetica simbiosi con il suo argomento, per fortuna è “un film essenzialmente antropologico, orizzontale, senza particolari punte emotive ... freddo, ancorché appassionato, e prosaico come l'universo che rievoca” (Anton Giulio Macino).

L'autunno della famiglia Kohayagawa

Manbei Kohayagawa, anziano vedovo e padre di tre figlie, è proprietario di una birreria di Kyoto che gestisce insieme al marito della figlia Fumiko. Akiko e Nuriko, le altre due figlie, vivono invece a Osaka e, mentre Akiko è vedova, ha un figlio e dà una mano in una galleria d'arte, Noriko è nubile e lavora come impiegata. Oltre a preoccuparsi di trovare marito per le due figlie sole, Manbei continua a vedere anche Sasaki, una donna di Osaka che frequentava anche quando sua moglie era in vita.

Seducing Mr. Perfect

Min-joon is a believer in true love and always very dedicated to her current boyfriend. Distracted by the latest break-up, she bumps into a car and a man steps out of it - who turns out to be her new boss, Robin Heiden. Heiden has very clear ideas about a relationship and love: both are a game of power and Min-Joon seeks advice from him, as she doesn't want to get dumped again. However, when she starts to treat men like Heiden treats women, she realizes that she prefers her older behaviour, even if that means that she gets dumped again; she doesn't see love as a game of power and never will. Heiden, who has to deal with his own heartbreak, as he loved a woman so much that she had to shoot him to get the message across that she wasn't interested in him, starts to soften at Min-joon's attitude towards life. He eventually falls in love with her and both get into a real relationship and a happy ending of their own.
