Pippo soffre di insonnia e prova a dormire imitando vari animali: una rana, un cane, uno struzzo, una talpa, un orso e addirittura un gufo, mentre tende ad addormentarsi al di fuori del letto, anche sul posto di lavoro, viene per questo mandato a casa dal datore di lavoro. Durante il tragitto fino a casa Pippo dorme ma non appena entra nel letto si risveglia improvvisamente e gli vengono una serie di incubi. Uno scienziato fa visita a Pippo e dopo aver sperimentato alcuni macchinari che solitamente adotta per risolvere il problema del sonno, riesce a fargli prendere sonno colpendogli la testa con un gigantesco martello.

Un corvo, dopo aver rubato un bruco a un altro uccello, lo porta ai suoi tre figlioletti, ma il bruco scappa e viene inseguito da una gallina e i suoi pulcini che a loro volta vengono assaliti da un falco. Il rapace cattura un pulcino che si era separato dal gruppo, ma il corvo raduna uno stormo che attacca il falco fino a spennarlo, facendogli cadere il pulcino e accompagnando quest'ultimo a terra sano e salvo per la gioia dei famigliari.
