Un dispositivo ultra segreto del tipo Atac affonda la nave spia inglese St. Georges al largo della Grecia. Un archeologo britannico riesce a localizzarlo, ma viene assassinato. La sua giovane figlia Melina, desiderosa di vendetta, si unisce a James Bond, incaricato dell'operazione di recupero. Un lavoro rischioso, come sempre, all'insegna dell'imprevisto, degli inseguimenti mozzafiato, degli agguati mortali, degli spostamenti intercontinentali: dalle Bahamas a Cortina alle assolate spiagge greche. Ship engineer Jim Taggert is rescued from a torpedoed tramp steamer by Joe Morgan, an American gangster that found New York too hot for him, and has become a fisherman operating from an out-of-the-way island off of the coast of South America. Morgan makes his headquarters at the Halfway House run by the parents of Maria Styx as a bar and dance resort catering to the planters and traders of the island. Taggert finds himself practically a prisoner along with a group of American girls acting as entertainers at the resort. Taggert shadows Morgan in his activities in a remote cove and finds that Morgan is supplying German U-boat commanders with torpedoes, but does not know that Morgan has rigged the torpedoes with clock devices that explode when at sea and sinks the U-boats.

Ting’s first feature is a monumental documentation of a large-scale HDB (Housing and Development Board) flat in Jurong by portrayal of its corridors and interior balconies. The film seamlessly scales the building from bottom to top, traversing every available 'public' space in its ascent. Shot just before sunrise with few inhabitants to be seen, the film becomes solely occupied with the interplay between camera and architecture – the shifting tones, lights and shapes that emerge from movement. The soundtrack is derived from a live performance by Balbalab during the world premiere of the film at the Singapore International Film Festival on 28 November 2016. Balbalab is a collective of experimental musicians from Singapore exploring a variety of strategies toward electroacoustic improvisation. Their sonorous response uses field recordings mined from the same HDB block and then cut up, processed, and reassembled.

The main theme of the film is freedom, both literal and in the ability to choose one's own destiny - to break free of expectations. We wish for the film, while an exciting and fun science fiction, to also capture a magical sense of wonder. PROTO will overcome the expectations and restrictions placed on him and discovering his true self.
