Travelling Hawkers in Frankfurt am Main

A documentary about unemployed people who bought fruit and vegetables at moderate prices at the wholesale market and sold these in the streets of Frankfurt. Since they had no permits they were constantly with their bulky carts on the run from the police. One part of the film was shot at the fairgrounds in front of the wholesale market. Newspaper and lottery ticket vendors, propagandists offering their ware for a few pfennigs, all convey the mood of a time when need made people inventive.

At the end of September 1941, Soviet artillery troops in besieged Leningrad realize that pretty soon they will fire their last shot, and after that the defense of the city will be doomed. Amanti perduti

Ambientato nella Parigi di Luigi Filippo, il film narra le vicende di un gruppo di persone sullo sfondo del Boulevard du Temple, all'epoca sede di moltissimi teatri (tra cui quello dei Funambules, citato nel film) e piuttosto malfamato, tanto da essere conosciuto con il nome di Boulevard du crime. Al centro della trama è Garance, un'attrice contesa tra quattro ammiratori, con ciascuno dei quali intreccia una relazione: il bandito-gentiluomo Lacenaire, il celebre attore classico Fréderic Lemaître, il ricchissimo conte di Montray, e il mimo Baptiste Debureau. Garance, dopo aver superato alcune vicissitudini con la giustizia, che la costringeranno ad abbandonare temporaneamente Parigi, reincontra il mimo, che nel frattempo ha sposato una sua collega di spettacolo, e corona il suo sogno trascorrendo con lui una notte d'amore. Vengono però scoperti dalla moglie di Baptiste e sono costretti a lasciarsi proprio il giorno dei festeggiamenti per il carnevale.

Storia di Piera

Eugenia e Lorenzo hanno una figlia di nome Piera. La condizione mentale della madre non è delle migliori e si aggrava col trascorrere degli anni. Il film percorre la vita di Piera dalla nascita fino all'età adulta, dai ragazzi del quartiere che le vanno dietro alla relazione di tipo omosessuale con Arianna. Anche il padre attraversa un periodo in manicomio. Piera inizia a lavorare come sarta, ma avrà più successo a teatro.

Eva contro Eva

Eva Harrington, ragazza di modesta condizione, piena d'entusiasmo per il teatro, riesce, per mezzo di Karen Lloyd, moglie d'un celebre commediografo, ad avvicinare Margo Channing, grande attrice quarantenne, ancora bella e trionfante. Coi suoi modi insinuanti, spacciandosi per la vedova d'un caduto, Eva riesce ad accaparrarsi le simpatie e ad assicurarsi la protezione di Margo, che l'accoglie in casa sua come segretaria. Una sera Margo arriva in ritardo per la recita e trova Eva, che sta leggendo la sua parte.
