Predictably, the invincible Red Army defeats the nationalist plotters and proves that the Soviet borders are impregnable.

Death termina la narrazione all'episodio 24, ovvero con la morte dell'ultimo angelo, Kaworu Nagisa, poiché gli episodi 25 e 26 verranno sostituiti dal film "Neon Genesis Evangelion: The end of Evangelion". Alla fine di Death vi sono anche la sigla di coda e un intervallo di cinque minuti prima dell'inizio della seconda parte Rebirth, la quale è più corta ma anche più interessante, poiché è da essa che Evangelion si avvia alla conclusione vera e propria. Rebirth è l'inizio del film "Neon Genesis Evangelion: The end of Evangelion" e sviluppa gli avvenimenti immediatamente successivi alla morte dell'ultimo angelo.

L'arrivo di un treno alla stazione di La Ciotat

Un gruppo di persone sono in piedi lungo la piattaforma della stazione ferroviaria di La Ciotat, in attesa di un treno. Il treno arriva da lontano, finché alla fine si ferma alla piattaforma. Le porte delle vetture si aprono e gli assistenti aiutano i passeggeri a scendere e salire. La leggenda narra che, quando il film fu mostrato la prima volta, il pubblico fuggì dal caffè in preda al terrore, perché convinti che il treno avesse potuto investiti. Anche se si pensa che la leggenda non sia altro che un racconto promozionale, gli spettatori rimasero certamente sbalorditi dalle capacità del cinematografo.

A dance of shapes. A title card tells us this is an experiment in conveying the mental images of music in a visual form. Liszt's "Second Hungarian Rhapsody" is the music. The shapes, all two-dimensional, are circles primarily, with some squares and rectangles, and a few triangles. The shapes move rhythmically to the music: receding from view or moving across the screen. Red circles on a blue background; light blue squares; white rectangles. Then, a red background of many circles with a few in the foreground. Red gives way to blue then to white. Shapes reappear as Liszt's themes re-occur. Then, with a few staccato notes and images, it's over.
