Essi provengono da ambienti che difficilmente potevano essere più diversi - Saluzzi dal Sud America con il tango e le tradizioni popolari e Lechner dal mondo della musica classica europea, ma hanno lavorato a stretto contatto sin dalla metà degli anni 1990, a cominciare dal Kultrum alleanza tra Saluzzi e il Rosamunde Quartett.
