Realizzato come un video musicale dedicato a Minmay, Flashback 2012 parte con quello che doveva essere il concerto di chiusura del film di Macross. Seguono le varie canzoni di Minmay montate su spezzoni della serie e del film. In chiusura un ultimo segmento mostra il seguito della storia con la partenza di una nuova astronave dalla terra comandata da Misa.

Natale a New York

Lillo, ex pianista di piano bar, ha sposato una donna ricchissima che lo lega con un contratto matrimoniale che alla prima infedeltà lo rigetterebbe sul lastrico. Ritrova però un giorno Barbara, una vecchia fiamma molto ‘ruspante’ a sua volta legata con un contratto analogo a un marito che cerca, inutilmente, di renderla più raffinata. Il di lei consorte è, vedi caso, l’amante della figlia di Lillo. Si ritrovano ovviamente tutti negli stessi luoghi in quella cittadina dove tutti conoscono tutti che risponde al nome di New York. La Big Apple è anche luogo delle nozze di un aspirante viceprimario che si trova a cercare di coprire la vita sregolata del figlio e del nipote del suo temibile superiore che li pensa totalmente dediti allo studio.
