Il mulino del Po

La pellicola ha inizio nell'Italia post-risorgimentale (il riferimento alla tassa sul macinato ed all'uso dei contagiri, indica gli anni tra il 1869 ed il 1880, quando l'imposta fu in vigore) ed è ambientato nei pressi del delta ferrarese del Po. Per motivi tecnici il film fu girato nel mantovano e non nel ferrarese, salvo alcune riprese effettuate nei pressi di Occhiobello (Rovigo)[1]. L'austerità ed il lavoro quotidiano di due famiglie locali, Scacerni e Verginesi, vengono interrotte in un giorno speciale: il fidanzamento dei rispettivi figli, Berta ed Orbino. La gioia del brindisi tra le famiglie è però guastata dall'arrivo dei finanzieri, giunti a verificare che gli Scacerni non abbiano di nuovo manomesso i contatori del loro mulino per non pagare il balzello: in tal caso, ci sarebbero l'arresto e la confisca.

Il giustiziere dei mari

È il 1790 e il comandante della marina britannica Redway è spinto dall'avidità di denaro e non si fermerà davanti a nulla per ottenerlo. Il suo secondo in comando, David Robinson, mette in dubbio la sua fedeltà quando Redway uccide suo padre e fa prigioniero suo fratello. Per salvare il fratello e vendicare la morte del padre, David deve unire le forze con una banda di pirati, guidata dal capitano Bernard, per dare la caccia a Redway e ucciderlo.

L'uomo di ferro

È il seguito di "L'uomo di marmo" girato da Wayda nel 1976. La giovane regista, protagonista del primo film, dopo aver tentato invano di fare un film sull'"uomo di marmo" (un operaio idealista perseguitato dal regime) ha sposato suo figlio Maciek, anche lui politicamente impegnato. È il 1980. Marito e moglie hanno aderito a Solidarnosc(il film ha avuto anche la partecipazione di Lech Walesa, che fa da testimone al matrimonio della coppia). Il sindaco è impegnato in uno sciopero ad oltranza. Un giornalista, inviato da Praga con la consegna di fare articoli contro gli scioperanti, conosce Maciek e la moglie e diventa loro amico.
