By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.

The Abduction from the Seraglio

Without question, this is an incredibly bizarre production. The revised storyline makes little sense, and there is a surprising amount of violence and sexual innuendo. However, the singers are superb, both vocally and in regard to their stage presence and acting, the orchestra plays beautifully, the chorus is wonderful, and the set is as clever as it is strange. It's definitely not for purists, or for someone new to this particular opera. But for someone who's seen Die Entfuhrung before, and is familiar enough with the original story to not miss it, watching Belmonte, Constanze, Blonde, Pedrillo, and Osmin embark on an entirely new adventure -- and push the boundaries of good taste -- is rather enjoyable.

In disgrazia alla fortuna e agli occhi degli uomini

In un carcere canadese, il giovane Smitty subisce violenza carnale da un suo compagno di cella, Roccia. Da questo momento, il giovane diventa succubo di Roccia, il quale lo costringe a servirlo come farebbe una moglie. Dietro suggerimento di un travestito, Smitty capovolge la situazione. Roccia non resiste per molto all'umiliazione: finito in cella di rigore, e picchiato a sangue dai secondini, si uccide. Smitty vorrebbe costringere un altro (vittima delle insane voglie dei più forti) a prendere il posto di Roccia, ma un residuo di dignità lo fa pentire del suo proposito. In seguito a una lite, il giovane viene rinchiuso in cella di segregazione, affidato senza scampo ai sanguinari secondini.

Woodstock è un documentario americano che racconta l'omonimo Festival tenutosi a Bethel nell'agosto del 1969. Il film fu diretto da Michael Wadleigh e fu montato da (tra gli altri) Martin Scorsese e Thelma Schoonmaker. Ricevette l'Oscar come miglior documentario e fu nominato per il miglior sonoro. Nel 1996, Woodstock fu scelto per essere conservato nella National Film Registry della Biblioteca del Congresso poiché esso è "culturalmente, storicamente o esteticamente significativo". Il 9 giugno 2009 è uscita una versione più lunga, sia in Blu-Ray che in DVD, con alcune scene non presenti nella versione precedente, incluse le versioni integrali delle esibizioni dei Creedence Clearwater Revival e altri.
