Through Main Street with an Orchestra

Vasily Muravin, 50, a teacher at the Moscow Institute of Management, is experiencing a crisis. The Alphabet

Prima di diventare famoso per film e serie televisive cult, David Lynch realizzò una serie di cortometraggi nei quali possiamo ritrovare gran parte della sua poetica. Uno dei più interessanti è sicuramente The Alphabet, incubo (ed ispirato da un incubo reale, pare) sulle lettere. Sospeso tra una prima parte in cui domina la ricerca pittorica e figurativa, tipica della prima fase (vedi il corto Six Figures Getting Sick), ed una seconda recitata in live action, il corto mostra come le lettere escano dolorosamente dagli oggetti che loro stesse creano per entrare -altrettanto dolorosamente- nel corpo umano reificato.

Un professore viene nominato membro della giuria di un concorso di bellezza e si innamora di una bella giurata. Decide di conquistare la ragazza gareggiando al Giro d'Italia: vende l'anima al diavolo per vincere la compatizione.

La canzone di Broadway

Questa però si lascia abbindolare da un milionario approfittatore che ha conosciuto dietro le quinte del palcoscenico dove ha riscosso grande successo come sostituta di una delle soubrette principali. Alla fine Queenie si accorgerà del vero amore che ha Eddie nei suoi confronti e Hank accetterà la situazione con serenità.

L'innocente

Tratto dall'omonimo romanzo scritto nel 1892 da Gabriele D'Annunzio, l'ultimo film di Luchino Visconti è un grande affresco della società decadente di fine '800 espressa nelle cose, nella magnifica ambientazione oltre che naturalmente nei personaggi. Il dramma è focalizzato sulla deviazione della paternità non riconosciuta. Pur essendo incompleto (o meglio: primo e non riveduto montaggio), causa morte improvvisa del grande Visconti, il film si presenta ottimamente risolto (con toni decadenti e tragici) sia sul versante visivo, sia su quello puramente letterario.

Spettacolo teatrale del trio comico Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo del 1999, con la regia di Arturo Brachetti. La rappresentazione, che è stata anche commercializzata in versione DVD, ha visto protagonisti oltre ai membri del trio (Aldo Baglio, Giovanni Storti e Giacomo Poretti) anche Marina Massironi, Corrado Guzzanti, Antonio Cornacchione e Raul Cremona. Il titolo è un gioco di parole in quanto presenta una forte assonanza con la frase "tel chi el terùn" ("eccolo qui il terrone"). In effetti, il trio - che è composto da due attori settentrionali e uno meridionale - deve parte del suo successo alla forte contrapposizione linguistico-caratteriale dei propri membri e utilizza talvolta, sempre in senso bonariamente scherzoso, anche la parola "terrone" nei propri sketch.

Una moglie bellissima

Mariano e Miranda si amano da dieci anni e vivono una vita perfetta nella provincia toscana. Gestori di un banco di frutta e verdura, sognano di acquistare un giorno una bottega dove trasferire la loro attività. La bellezza morbida e sensuale di Miranda "esposta" come primizia al mercato non sfugge a un fotografo di moda, che le offre soldi e successo in cambio di dodici scatti. Allettata dalla cifra e dalla possibilità di realizzare il loro progetto, la coppia accetta la proposta e Miranda posa per un calendario. Fama e fiumi di champagne finiranno per confonderla e per spingerla tra le braccia del seducente e sedicente fotografo. Mariano, intanto, perde l'amore ma non la speranza.
