Moscowin Kavery (English: Moscow's Kaveri ) is a 2010 Tamil romantic drama film written and directed by cinematographer Ravi Varman, making his directorial debut, besides handling the cinematography. The film, which has lyrics written by Vairamuthu and music scored by Thaman, stars Rahul Ravindran and Samantha in the lead roles with Harshvardhan, Santhanam and Seeman essaying supporting roles. Releasing on 27 August 2010, after nearly three years of production, the film was ultimately panned by critics.

The Auntie from Chicago

His wife, Efterpi (Eleni Zafiriou), as well as his friend and neighbor Xenophon (Pantelis Zervos), make remarkable efforts to convince him to change his tactics, but he insists on his very conservative behavior. But when the conversation reaches the well-to-do sister of Kalliopis (Georgia Vassiliadou) who has been living in Chicago, USA for years, everything turns upside down. She returns to Athens and undertakes to modernize the general's house, as well as help the four girls (and her nieces) to be rehabilitated.

RR

Looping, chugging and barreling by, the trains in Benning's latest monumental film map a stunning topography and a history of American development. RR comes three decades after Benning and Bette Gordon made The United States of America (1975), a cinematic journey along the country’s interstates that is keenly aware “of superhighways and railroad tracks as American public symbols.” A political essay responding to the economic histories of trains as instruments in a culture of hyper-consumption, RR articulates its concern most explicitly when Eisenhower's military-industrial complex speech is heard as a mile long coal train passes through eastern Wyoming. Benning spent two and a half years collecting two hundred and sixteen shots of trains, forty-three of which appear in RR. The locomotives' varying colors, speeds, vectors, and reverberations are charged with visual thrills, romance and a nostalgia heightened by Benning's declaration that this will be his last work in 16mm film.

Amanti perduti

Ambientato nella Parigi di Luigi Filippo, il film narra le vicende di un gruppo di persone sullo sfondo del Boulevard du Temple, all'epoca sede di moltissimi teatri (tra cui quello dei Funambules, citato nel film) e piuttosto malfamato, tanto da essere conosciuto con il nome di Boulevard du crime. Al centro della trama è Garance, un'attrice contesa tra quattro ammiratori, con ciascuno dei quali intreccia una relazione: il bandito-gentiluomo Lacenaire, il celebre attore classico Fréderic Lemaître, il ricchissimo conte di Montray, e il mimo Baptiste Debureau. Garance, dopo aver superato alcune vicissitudini con la giustizia, che la costringeranno ad abbandonare temporaneamente Parigi, reincontra il mimo, che nel frattempo ha sposato una sua collega di spettacolo, e corona il suo sogno trascorrendo con lui una notte d'amore. Vengono però scoperti dalla moglie di Baptiste e sono costretti a lasciarsi proprio il giorno dei festeggiamenti per il carnevale.

Chorus Line

Un gruppo di ballerini si riunisce sul palcoscenico d'un teatro di Broadway per un'audizione, il cui scopo è scegliere un ristretto numero di ballerini di fila per un nuovo musical, prodotto dal famoso coreografo Zach, personaggio scontroso e spigoloso, ma d'indiscutibile talento.

Il fantasma dell'Opera

Nel 1919, al Teatro dell'Opera di Parigi si tiene un'asta. L'anziano Visconte di Chagny acquista un carillon a forma di scimmia, che indossa abiti persiani e suona i piatti. Durante l'asta incontra Madame Giry, che ha incontrato da giovane. La loro attenzione è attratta dal prossimo pezzo all'asta, lotto 666: un lampadario restaurato di recente e adattato all'elettricità. Mentre i banditori lo illustrano, il lampadario restaurato si illumina e lentamente si alza tornando al suo posto originale tra le travi, accompagnato dal crescendo della musica, e spazza via gli anni e il degrado dal teatro dell'opera. Il bianco e nero si trasforma in colore, e il pubblico è trasportato indietro nel tempo, nel 1870, quando il teatro era ancora ai suoi inizi, proprio durante le prove generali dell'Annibale interpretato dalla cantante italiana Carlotta Giudicelli e dal cantante Ubaldo Piangi.

Eva contro Eva

Eva Harrington, ragazza di modesta condizione, piena d'entusiasmo per il teatro, riesce, per mezzo di Karen Lloyd, moglie d'un celebre commediografo, ad avvicinare Margo Channing, grande attrice quarantenne, ancora bella e trionfante. Coi suoi modi insinuanti, spacciandosi per la vedova d'un caduto, Eva riesce ad accaparrarsi le simpatie e ad assicurarsi la protezione di Margo, che l'accoglie in casa sua come segretaria. Una sera Margo arriva in ritardo per la recita e trova Eva, che sta leggendo la sua parte. Quando il giornalista Addison De Witt, il regista Bill Simpson e Karen esaltano il talento d'Eva, Margo sente il morso della gelosia. Qualche tempo dopo, Karen, con uno stratagemma, rende impossibile a Margo di partecipare alla recita: Eva la sostituisce ottenendo un successo trionfale.

Il viceré di una colonia spagnola si invaghisce della prima donna di una compagnia di comici italiani, Camilla. A dimostrazione del suo amore, le regala una carrozza tutta d'oro. Ma pare che non si addica a un viceré un tale amore, né un tale comportamento: i nobili gelosi e preoccupati gridano allo scandalo minacciando il viceré. Questi, impressionato, sta per cedere. Quando Camilla gli sbatte in faccia il suo disprezzo, egli tenta inutilmente di riconquistarla. La bella Camilla ha altri due spasimanti: un cavaliere e un torero, ma tutti e tre la deluderanno e alla fine la commediante sceglierà quella che è la sua vera passione: il teatro.

Nella New York disordinata della fine degli anni '30, si intrecciano i destini di una compagnia teatrale, decisa a portare in scena una piece censurata dal governo federale perché dai contenuti pericolosamente comunisti, e di personaggi celebri (Nelson Rockfeller su tutti) o vicini alla gloria (un giovane e visionario Orson Welles, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo). Il terzo film di Tim Robbins, tenuto inspiegabilmente per quattro anni nel cassetto, si incentra sui temi del conflitto tra la libertà dell'artista e l'ottusità della censura. L'attore-regista, faro dell'America liberal insieme alla moglie Susan Sarandon (qui presente nella parte di Margherita Sarfatti, amante di Mussolini), riadatta una vicenda vera piegandola alle esigenze di raccontare la superiorità della creazione artistica.
