Al Festival di Berlino 2002 fu presentata una edizione restaurata (Director's Cut) e allungata di oltre 20´.

Un giorno alle corse

Approfittando di un'ipoteca che grava su una clinica, il cattivo Morgan vorrebbe trasformarla in una casa da gioco. La situazione è salvata in extremis col denaro vinto a una corsa di cavalli. Passati dalla Paramount alla M-G-M, i fratelli Marx devono fare i conti con gli eredi di Irving Thalberg, morto tre mesi prima dell'inizio delle riprese, che, come in Una notte all'Opera, cercano di smorzare i loro eccessi aggressivi e dare al prodotto una scorrevole gradevolezza in linea con le tradizioni della casa. Così il marxismo convive con i cavalli (Groucho veterinario che si spaccia per medico), una scenografia sfarzosa, stereotipate musiche romantiche. Ma non mancano né le trasgressioni né le sequenze di travolgente buffoneria: il consulto medico, la scena all'ippodromo in cui Chico, travestito da gelataio, cerca di vendere a Groucho un'informazione sicura.

Pink Floyd: The Wall

In attesa di esibirsi all'ennesimo concerto, Pink, cantante rock tossicodipendente, ripensa agli episodi salienti della sua vita. Un film di guerra trasmesso in tv è l'occasione per questo percorso nella memoria a cavallo fra ricordi e allucinazioni. Diretto da Alan Parker su sceneggiatura dello stesso Waters, Pink Floyd The Wall non ebbe una genesi facile, e del resto accostare due personalità forti come Parker e Waters non poteva non far nascere qualche contrasto. Menzione speciale agli splendidi disegni di Gerald Scarfe, fumettista britannico, responsabile della scenografia e delle animazioni che danno vita ai deliri onirici di Pink.

Yellow Submarine - Il sottomarino giallo

Il paese di Pepelandia (Pepperland) è una terra paradisiaca e meravigliosa che si trova in fondo all'oceano. Lì regnano la musica, i colori, i fiori, l'allegria e, soprattutto, l'amore. Ma si scatena l'orda dei Biechi Blu che pietrificano tutti gli abitanti e opprimono Pepelandia con la forza delle armi, rendendo il paese grigio, silenzioso e triste. L'unico che si salva è il Giovane Fred che, sfuggito ai Biechi Blu, prende il suo sommergibile giallo e va a Liverpool dove incontra i Beatles e chiede loro aiuto perché liberino Pepelandia dalla tristezza. Dal porto di Liverpool incomincia per i Fab Four una incredibile avventura tra terre e isole lunari e psichedeliche e strane creature, attraversando ben 6 mari (il Mare del Tempo, il Mare della Scienza, il Mare dei Mostri, il Mare del Niente, il Mare delle Teste e il Mare dei Buchi).
