Quattro amici, Melandri, Sassaroli, Necchi e Mascetti, mattacchioni in gioventù, ma ora attempati e acciaccati, con un ritorno di spregiudicata e anacronistica goliardia ritentano le bravate del passato. Lo scherzo più cattivo viene fatto al quarto, il conte Mascetti, vedovo e ridotto sulla sedia a rotelle da una trombosi, che i tre sistemano in una fastosa "Villa Serena", casa di riposo per vecchi danarosi. Più avanti, essi stessi non resistono e finiranno di propria iniziativa alla Villa, ma per continuarvi i loro scherzi....

Dopo la sconfitta di Majin Bu, Mr. Satan costruisce un hotel e Goku e i suoi amici, invitati per l'inaugurazione della struttura, si trovano di fronte quattro nuovi personaggi: Table, un giovane Saiyan nonché fratello di Vegeta, che da bambino fu inviato su una lontana galassia dal padre Re Vegeta in quanto non incline a combattere; un piccolo alieno bianco di sesso femminile ovvero Gure, la moglie di Table; due alieni superstiti delle truppe di Freezer chiamati Avo e Cado. Ponyo sulla scogliera

Dal mare emerge una pesciolina rossa a bordo di una medusa. Rimasta intrappolata in un barattolo di vetro, viene soccorsa e liberata da Sosuke, un bimbo di cinque anni che vive in cima alla scogliera. La gratitudine della pesciolina, che Sosuke battezzerà col nome di Ponyo, si trasforma in tenera amicizia. L'idillio viene però interrotto da Fujimoto, padre di Ponyo e padrone-stregone dei fondali marini. Un tempo umano, Fujimoto ha lasciato la terra per l'acqua prendendo in moglie la Madre del Mare. Decisa a tentare la fuga e a scegliere per sé un destino umano, Ponyo rovescia accidentalmente l'elisir magico del padre, trasformandosi in una bambina e alterando la quiete del mare. Le onde furiose e i pesci giganti la condurranno fino alla casa di Sosuke, dove sarà accolta e amata. Perché il mare si ritiri e restituisca a Ponyo la sua libertà e a Sosuke la sua mamma e il suo villaggio, il bambino dovrà affrontare una prova e riportare l'equilibrio tra il genere umano e la natura.

Dopo questo prologo viene inviato a Bratislava per organizzare la defezione di Georgi Koskov, un generale del Kgb. Qui sventa un attentato organizzato da una graziosa violoncellista-spia. Si reca quindi in Afghanistan dove scopre che dietro a tutto si cela proprio Koskov. 007, dopo le gloriose stagioni Connery e Moore, si è riciclato nei panni di Timothy Dalton: ne risente la mitologia del personaggio, ma non la spettacolarità del suo cinema.
