In an undefined future, the earth has been destroyed by man, and the air polluted with a mysterious virus that turns humans into zombies. 'Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Ata Hai' revolves around the Pintos and the people connected to them. There's Albert who's pretty much angry at everybody. His brother Dominic who thinks it's better to be jobless than to work an underpaid job, his patient sister Joan who works at a sari shop, his independent girlfriend Stella who feels under-appreciated by her boyfriend, his father and his colleagues, client and Stella's family. The film is very much a social commentary about Middle-class life in Bombay during the late ’70s and the conflicts arising in the labour force because workers were getting severely underpaid.

Blood Spilled at Takadanobaba

The tale of Nakayama Yasubei’s duel is famous, even if he in reality probably did not cut down 18 opponents. The story has been related in film, rakugo, kodan and on stage many times, in part because Nakayama later joined the famous 47 Ronin (Chushingura) as Horibe Yasubei. But Makino and Inagaki’s version gives no hint of this more serious future, playing up the thrills and the comedy with Bando’s bravura performance. The multiple pans of Yasubei running to the duel are an exemplar of the experimental flourishes of 1930s Japanese cinema and the final duel, performed virtually like a dance number, is a marker of Makino’s love of rhythm and one of the best sword fights in Japanese film history. The film was originally released under the title Chikemuri Takadanoba (Bloody Takadanobaba) with a length of 57 minutes, but suffered some cuts and a title change when it was re-released in 1952.

Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2020

The eighth installment in Crypton Future Media's annual “Magical Mirai” franchise, this third-dimensional live concert and exhibition tour was held at INTEX Osaka in November 2020 and the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Tokyo in December 2020. Its common theme is “MATSURI (festival)”, and the cities that the tour visited each included a different seasonal nature of the theme - Osaka having a summer style and Tokyo having a winter style. The first Japanese female VOCALOID, MEIKO, also commemorated her fifteenth anniversary during the tour.

La grande guerra marziana

Prodotta, nel 2013, da History Channel e ideata da due (quasi) esordienti questa web series ha lo scopo di raccontare (tramite filmati d'epoca e testimonianze di sopravvissuti) la verità riguardo il grande conflitto che tra il 1913 e il 1917 vide scontrarsi le potenze europee (con, solo nell'ultimo periodo di scontri, gli Stati Uniti) e una forza d'invasione (presumibilmente) marziana. Oltre al racconto dei fatti bellici il film si spinge oltre e, attraverso il ritrovamento recente (e loro decifrazione) di documenti appartenuti agli alieni, pone inquietanti quesiti sul futuro (preziose le idee, a proposito, di due eminenti storici interpellati) dell'umanità stessa a quasi cento anni da quell'evento che ha segnato la nostra Storia.

Patton, generale d'acciaio

Duramente sconfitte a Kasserine, in Tunisia, nel loro primo scontro con l'"Africa Korps" di Rommel, le forze americane si rifanno allorché il comando della VII Armata viene assunto dal generale George S. Militare di carriera e più ancora di vocazione, fanatico, arrogante e volgare, ma anche abile e valoroso comandante, Patton, dopo aver conquistato la Sicilia, rivaleggiando con Montgomery, subisce un'eclissi temporanea per aver schiaffeggiato come vigliacco un soldato colto da una crisi nervosa. Sbarcati gli alleati in Normandia, viene affidato a Patton il comando della III Armata, con la quale, vinta la cruenta battaglia di Bastogne, e conquistate le Ardenne, si spinge fin nel centro della Germania.

La battaglia di Alamo

L'azione si svolge nell'anno 1836, in una vecchia missione fortificata del Texas: Alamo. Nel forte si trovano dei volontari al comando di Jim Bowie e del colonnello W.B. Travis, ed un gruppo di uomini venuti dal lontano Tennessee al comando di David Crockett. Per ben tre giorni, 185 uomini lottano disperatamente contro un'armata messicana di 7000 uomini, comandata dal generale Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana. Tutti vengono uccisi. Ma il loro sacrificio eroico non sarà vano. Alcuni giorni più tardi, il generale Sam Houston potrà, grazie alla resistenza di forte Alamo, vincere l'armata di Santa Ana, e ridare l'indipendenza al Texas.
