Nel febbraio 1999, una serie di omicidi tiene Shiki Ryougi e Mikiya Kokutou col fiato sospeso. Questi crimini hanno un'inquietante somiglianza con una serie di omicidi simili avvenuti nel 1995, quando Shiki e Mikiya si sono incontrati per la prima volta, e risvegliano un oscuro desiderio omicida che da allora è rimasto latente nell'anima di Shiki.
