Junji tries to explain that it is not a yakuza’s job to talk on the radio, but no one listens to him. He reluctantly goes to the radio building, and is met by a young, upbeat girl broadcasting a talk show and playing pop music. Will this seasoned gangster really fit in on such a show?

Viky, a Greek from Africa, returns in shock to her homeland after the riots in the Congo, where she saw almost all of her family killed before her very eyes. In Athens, the businessman Angelos von Zirach, of German origin, helps her brother avoid financial disaster, but also helps her launch a career as a singer and dancer. Viky falls in love with him and agrees to marry him, inviting the wrath of his secretary and lover Tzina, who, in order to get even with him, reveals to Vicky that Angelos' ships don't transport food, medicine and indispensable articles to Africa, but guns, ammunition and even mercenaries. Viky is shocked. She turns in von Zirach to the police and leaves. After some years, she returns to him with their son Freiderikos, when von Zirach has donated his fortune to the orphans of Biafra.

Esordio folgorante di Visconti in pieno fascismo. E' il punto di arrivo di una riflessione sul realismo cominciata sulle pagine della rivista "Cinema", ed ha alle spalle il realismo poetico francese (Visconti era stato assistente di Renoir) e del realismo sociale americano (il film è ispirato a "Il postino suona sempre due volte" di James Cain). Due divi dell'epoca usati in un contesto di crudo realismo, un uso assolutamente innovativo dei set naturali (il delta del Po). Il film fu proibito dal fascismo ed uscì in versione mutilata.

Frailty - Nessuno è al sicuro

L'agente dell' FBI a capo delle indagini relative al celebre omicida noto come la 'Mano di Dio', è comprensibilmente diffidente di fronte ad un uomo che si presenta nel suo ufficio dichiarando di conoscere l'identità dell'inafferrabile serial killer. Il giovane dice di chiamarsi Fenton Meiks e sostiene che suo fratello Adam sia il famoso killer che si è poi suicidato. Ma questo è solo l'inizio di una lunga storia: passato e presente si ricongiungeranno mentre Meiks comincia il suo macabro racconto di fede e di castighi.

Cut Bank - Crimine chiama crimine
