Roughly chronological, from 3/96 to 11/96, with a coda in spring of 1997: inside compounds of Aum Shinrikyo, a Buddhist sect led by Shoko Asahara. (Members confessed to a murderous sarin attack in the Tokyo subway in 1995.) We see what they eat, where they sleep, and how they respond to media scrutiny, on-going trials, the shrinking of their fortunes, and the criticism of society. Central focus is placed on Hiroshi Araki, a young man who finds himself elevated to chief spokesman for Aum after its leaders are arrested. Araki faces extreme hostility from the Japanese public, who find it hard to believe that most followers of the cult had no idea of the attacks and even harder to understand why these followers remain devoted to the religion, if not the violence.

The camera follows Tao, a blooming artist travelling by the means of her skateboard. Along the way they make insightful encounters and live unique experiences, through a variety of colours, landscapes, creative initiatives and incredible mouvements coming to sight progressively within their journey. This summer tale is an individual challenge, taking place through the lives of different encounters bringing out a single poetic line, a movement. Under the humble wheels of a skateboard hides a tribute to the old continent. Overall, questioning the individuality, the mass, and moreover, us, the European youth.

Il Professor Gribble è l'insegnante di canto di un liceo americano che, con i suoi modi giovanili e sfrontati, si è conquistato l'ammirazione dei suoi studenti. Dietro questa facciata però si nasconde un cialtrone donnaiolo che atteggiandosi a grande talent scout non ha mai realmente affrontato il mondo dello spettacolo. Marc Pease è un ex studente petulante, cocciuto e sognatore che cerca da 10 anni di sfondare nel mondo della musica. La sera della prima dello spettacolo di fine anno Marc viene preso da una crisi di panico, per tranquillizzarlo Gribble gli promette che, se riuscirà a vincere la paura, sarà lui a fargli da manager e a produrgli il disco d'esordio. Dieci anni dopo Marc si mette alle costole del suo mentore per costringerlo a rispettare la parola data anni prima ma completamente dimenticata da Gribble! Ne scaturirà una caccia all'uomo fatta di fughe rocambolesche e grotteschi inseguimenti.
