Il 29 e 30 ottobre 2009, i reali del rock 'n' roll hanno tenuto banco al Madison Square Garden per quelli che sono stati definiti "i migliori concerti di sempre" e "dove è stata fatta la storia del rock 'n' roll". I concerti presentavano un who's who del rock 'n' roll dagli anni '50 agli anni '90 e includevano artisti che si esibivano insieme in combinazioni senza precedenti che molto probabilmente non saranno mai più viste. I concerti del 25° anniversario del Rock and Roll Hall of Fame includevano set di Crosby, Stills & Nash; Stevie Wonder; Paul Simon; Simon & Garfunkel; Aretha Franklin; Metallica; U2; Jeff Beck e Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band. A questa formazione iconica si sono uniti sul palco ospiti speciali tra cui: Jerry Lee Lewis, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Smokey Robinson, B.B.
