Homebound

Mika's mother marries a man who is getting out of the jail. At the beginning everything seems to be all right. Mika leaves Oulu, an industrial city up in Northern Finland, to study in the capital, Helsinki. He does very well with his studies and also begins a relationship with the girl he knew already back in Oulu. Meanwhile the new husband reveals his true self - and all of a sudden things get very serious.

Life of a Mutt

Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Through the seven “wandering” characters that we follow at different ages, from birth to old age, we witness their dignified struggle for survival. At the cemetery, in an abandoned factory, in an asylum, in a landfill, in places full of sorrow, our heroes search for love and togetherness. By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.

Meanwhile, fervent believers work diligently to create the lifelike animatronics that will be on display in the Ark.

Il film è mediocre e troppo lungo per arrivare a dire qualcosa di scontato e di già noto e cioè che le vite delle protagoniste sono difficili, alcune anche con problemi di droga, e che le loro reazioni emotive sono spesso fuori dal controllo e dunque eccessive. Angela, Daryl Hannah, vorrebbe una vita normale, ma non fa nulla per uscire dal giro e ottenerla. Il regista avverte l’esigenza di porre lo spettatore davanti a scene di sesso abbastanza esplicite, noncurante di come si possa sentire chi guarda. Probabilmente un regista di sesso femminile avrebbe girato e reso in modo differente questo film.
