Negli USA fu vietato ai minori di 12 anni non accompagnati. Horror in forma di favola, anticipa la poetica di Burton, vero autore con le mani di forbice.

Quando il corpo di un terrorista, infetto da una sostanza chimica rubata, viene recuperato dall'esercito americano, il cadavere viene cremato, rilasciando involontariamente il virus / i batteri nell'atmosfera su una piccola isola. Presto la popolazione infetta si trasformerà in zombi affamati di carne e un trio di soldati in congedo dovrà unirsi a un gruppo di turisti e imbarcarsi in un albergo abbandonato mentre cercano di respingere l'agile e aggressivo morto vivente.
