La ragazza altri non è che una sua vecchia fiamma e i problemi di carattere professionale finiscono per sovrapporsi a quelli sentimentali. Alla fine, dopo molte peripezie, il nostro riesce a provare la sua innocenza.

Andando a spasso

Divertente comica nel quale il duo Laurel & Hardy interpreta una coppia di onesti cittadini che cerca di scampare alla vendetta di un pericoloso criminale assicurato alla giustizia. Non trascurabile per la riuscita del cortometraggio il ruolo dell'attrice Mae Busch, brillante caratterista che interpreta la moglie del bandito. Gag a raffica e grande ritmo per un'ottima opera comica.

Seduzione

Il personaggio principale è qui sostenuto da Brian Aherne, bravo padre di famiglia giurato a un processo. Durante il dibattito riesce a convincere i colleghi dell'innocenza dell'imputata, Rita, accusata d'aver ucciso un uomo. Non solo, ma quando la ragazza torna a piede libero, la prende come commessa nel suo negozio e non scoraggia la passione che il suo primogenito nutre per lei. Qualche dubbio sull'innocenza della quasi nuora gli viene in seguito dopo aver sentito qualche voce malevola sul conto di lei, ma alla fine tutto s'accomoda.

Alla prima votazione tutti i giurati tranne uno votano per la colpevolezza, l'unico giurato favorevole all'innocenza esplica le sue ragioni, analizzando tutte le prove e confutandone l'attendibilità. Inoltre mettono in discussione la difesa dell'imputato, fatta da un difensore d'ufficio al quale nulla importa del suo assistito. Remake del film omonimo di Sydney Lumet del 1957.

Il coraggio del leone

Il leone è il simbolo di Venezia, ma anche del coraggio: quello di una città e nel nostro caso di un Festival cinematografico e di un evento mediatico che non si sono arresi e che caparbiamente hanno “voluto” fortemente essere realizzati a dispetto del mondo intorno, del Covid-19 e della grande incertezza che domina la situazione globale. Lo sguardo privilegiato sull’evento è quello dell’attrice Anna Foglietta, che affronta con eleganza l’affascinante ruolo di madrina del festival senza perdere di vista la concretezza e la profonda umanità che l’hanno resa tanto amata dal pubblico italiano. Un crescendo di emozioni, che tra palco e dietro le quinte coinvolge lo spettatore in profondità.
