Martin Beck and his police team initially suspect a highly criminal MC-leader of the attack, but one pretty soon has to re-evaluate the case once the MC-leader is found murdered in a similar wooden box. Soon, more wooden boxes are found and the police realize that they are part of a cat and mouse game with a crazy serial killer. The investigation soon shows that there is a vague connection between the victims in the shape of a 9 year old event, but what Martin Beck does not suspect is that his own life too is at stake, as the murderer has chosen him as the next victim.

Tin Toy

Tinny è un uomo orchestra di latta appena comprato per il neonato Billy. Appena uscito dalla scatola Tinny prende vita e scopre che essere il giocattolo di un neonato non è l'esperienza idilliaca che si era immaginato. Impaurito fugge sotto il letto, dove trova tanti altri giocattoli che, come lui, sono terrorizzati dal bambino. Rimasto senza giocattoli Billy comincia a piangere, così il povero Tinny si sacrifica per la gioia del suo padrone: esce da sotto il letto e si fa "torturare". A un certo punto Billy si stanca di Tinny e passa a giocare con una busta di carta, che si infila in testa per poi vagare per la stanza senza vedere niente. A nulla varranno gli sforzi di Tinny per evitare che il bambino urti qualcosa o cada a terra. Mentre scorrono i titoli di coda e il bambino ha ancora la testa coperta dalla busta, gli altri giocattoli sono liberi di uscire da sotto il letto.

Nel Ghetto tre giovani rapper, Stray Bullet, Butch e Postmaster P, cercano di sfondare nel mondo della musica, ma sono a corto di mezzi. Decidono, allora, di rubare soldi e una gran quantità di oggetti preziosi a Mack Daddy, un ricco produttore musicale, per partecipare a una gara musicale a Las Vegas. Scoprono, inoltre, che Mack Daddy deve il suo successo ad un flauto magico, di cui si impadroniscono. Il colpo riesce ma sfortunatamente i tre rianimano involontariamente un leprechaun pietrificato (grazie ad un medaglione stregato) che li braccherà senza tregua fino a quando non riotterrà l'oro e il flauto magico di sua legittima proprietà, e che Mack Daddy gli rubò già a suo tempo.
