Presto Paperino se ne accorge, e tenta in tutti i modi di fermare l'animale (tentando anche, senza successo di schiacciarlo con un badile). Il citello però gli sfugge sempre, e l'animale lo blocca a terra usando il fusto della pianta come una corda. Infine il citello, davanti all'impotente Paperino, si mangia in pochi istanti tutto l'orto.
