La regina di Casetta

Gregoria è l'unica ragazzina che vive a Casetta di Tiara, un paesino sperduto sull'Appennino tosco-emiliano, con solo 10 abitanti. Questo è l'ultimo anno che vive lì: a settembre dovrà trasferirsi a valle per andare al liceo e quello sarà anche il giorno in cui il film si concluderà. La storia racconta un anno passato con lei in questa sperduta parte dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, dove echeggiano i versi di Dino Campana che proprio lì soggiornò frequentemente. Il passaggio delle stagioni, i riti naturali, la raccolta delle castagne, la caccia al cinghiale, la neve d'inverno accompagnano le giornate di Gregoria, quelle dei suoi genitori e dei compaesani.

In the middle of a broadcast about Typhoon Yolanda's initial impact, reporter Jiggy Manicad was faced with the reality that he no longer had communication with his station. They were, for all intents and purposes, stranded in Tacloban. With little option, and his crew started the six hour walk to Alto, where the closest broadcast antenna was to be found. Letting the world know what was happening to was a priority, but they were driven by the need to let their families and friends know they were all still alive. Along the way, they encountered residents and victims of the massive typhoon, and with each step it became increasingly clear just how devastating this storm was. This was a storm that was going to change lives.

In The Footsteps Of Frantz Fanon

Who was Frantz Fanon, the author of Wretched of the Earth and Black Skin, White Masks, this Pan-African thinker and psychiatrist engaged in anti-colonialist struggles? Born in Martinique, Frantz Fanon was not yet 20 years old when he landed, weapons in hand, on the beaches of Provence in August 1944 with thousands of soldiers from "Free France", most of whom had come from Africa, to free the country from Nazi occupation. He became a psychiatrist and ten years later joined the Algerians in their fight for independence. Died at the age of 36, he left behind a major work on the relationships of domination between the colonized and the colonizers, on the roots of racism and the emergence of a thought of a Third World in search of freedom. 60 years after his death, the film follows in the footsteps of Frantz Fanon, alongside those who knew him, to rediscover this exceptional man.

When private tutor Thomas Arnold (Sir Cedric Hardwicke) becomes headmaster at Rugby, a boy's preparatory school in England, he puts into place a policy of strict punishment for unruliness and bulying. Fed up, he leads his fellow classmates in an underground rebellion against their tormentors.
