The Underdogs

In I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Baby, Broderick Crawford plays a sentimental gangster who abducts songwriter Johnny Downs and forces him to write a love ballad. It is Crawford's hope that the song will reach out and touch his long-lost childhood sweetheart. I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Baby was based on James Edward Grant's short story Trouble in B Flat; echoes of the basic premise later resurfaced in the 1957 "A" picture The Girl Can't Help It.

Marcel Ichac accompagnò l'alpinista Armand Charlet, nel 1943, nella ripetizione della prima traversata delle Aiguilles du Diable che la guida della valle di Chamonix aveva effettuato nel 1925. Una cordata raggiunse su neve e ghiaccio il Col du Géant, raggiunto a alla fermata Mont-Blanc-du-Tacul e sul Col du Diable. Gli uomini attraversano i Needles arrampicandosi su camini, fessure e pareti in corda doppia. Si accede al versante orientale del massiccio del Monte Bianco che offre un panorama sulle Grandes Jorasses e sul Monte Bianco. Armand Charlet è stato il primo a raggiungere le vette di quattro guglie sopra i 4000 metri: il Corno del Diavolo, Pointe Chaubert, Pointe Médiane e Pointe Carmen; racconta anche di come sia riuscito a salire il più lontano, l'Isolato. Marcel Ichac ha girato queste scene il più vicino possibile al suo soggetto, ha risposto con questo film con un "vero" cinema, il cui principio ritroviamo nelle sue produzioni successive.

When the training's complete, the girls learn that an evil warlord that left them orphans has intentions on killing them all as well, forcing the girls to team up together with all their training to defeat the madman and live in peace again.
