Lake Placid 2 - Il terrore continua

A otto anni di distanza dalla caccia al coccodrillo che interessò il lago della mansueta cittadina del Maine Lake Placid, misteriose morti ricominciano a far cadere nel panico la popolazione. Lo sceriffo Riley, insieme alla guardia forestale ed ex-moglie Emily e ad un cacciatore di animali esotici si mettono alla ricerca del coccodrillo.

Scipione, da quel momento chiamato "l'Africano", torna a Roma e ottiene il trionfo. Fa il suo esordio, come comparsa, l'allora diciassettenne Alberto Sordi.

The film’s content makes no concessions to the usual expectations of Soviet audiences of the 1930s. The cast of characters is extremely unlikely in almost every conventional respect. The action involves the household of the prominent Dr. Stepanov and his young wife, Masha, who share their large and richly adorned mansion with the parasitical Fedor Tsitronov, whose presence in the household is given only the most implausible of explanations. Equally implausible is the acquaintance of the family with the young and proud Grisha Fokin, whose leadership role in the Young Communist League is never clearly defined and who is never seen engaged in any work or professional activity.

An Air So Pure

In the midst of WW I, a doctor and a lawyer team up to turn a ramshackle old mountain chateau into a sanatorium/health spa that caters to the afflicted from most every stratum of European society, most of whom show up with false hope in their hearts and plenty of equally false identities. Even the proprietors have a few deceptions, chief among them is the part of the resort where they provide shelter for dying and horribly maimed soldiers. Still the atmosphere of this high-class convalescent home is that of great gentility that thinly disguises the seaminess of the guests' secret activities. Though much of the film is a quirky comedy, tragedy comes creeping in when people begin dying of unnatural causes, and not even the pure mountain air can save the owners and the residents.
