In the middle of a broadcast about Typhoon Yolanda's initial impact, reporter Jiggy Manicad was faced with the reality that he no longer had communication with his station. They were, for all intents and purposes, stranded in Tacloban. With little option, and his crew started the six hour walk to Alto, where the closest broadcast antenna was to be found. Letting the world know what was happening to was a priority, but they were driven by the need to let their families and friends know they were all still alive. Along the way, they encountered residents and victims of the massive typhoon, and with each step it became increasingly clear just how devastating this storm was. This was a storm that was going to change lives.

I condomini dello stabile sito al numero 29 di Rue des Oursins si danno appuntamento per la consueta riunione annuale di condominio. L'amministratore Jean-Lous, uomo senza scrupoli, dirige la riunione e, tra liti, dissapori e piccoli contrasti, si consumano le storie di un teatro di varia umanità. Alla fine forse i condomini avranno trovato una maggiore comprensione, ma... Tipica commedia francese di caratteri, "Riunione di condominio" è un buon risultato. Niente di eccezionale o che non si sia già visto: ma la sceneggiatura è scritta in punta di penna, gli attori reggono il gioco con spirito e la regia asseconda con bravura i loro estri. Lasciando un messaggio - ci si dovrebbe impegnare maggiormente a capire esigenze e personalità altrui - che sarà pur minimo, ma di questi tempi è bene ripetere. E per una volta i soldi del biglietto non sembrano il risultato di un'appropriazione indebita.

Due anni dopo un tragico fatto di sangue all'interno della famiglia allargata che fa capo a Horner segna l'inizio della decadenza dell'industria dell'hard core (con conseguente passaggio al video) e dello stesso Diggler, accelerata dalla cocaina. 2° film del 27enne P.T. Anderson, figlio di Ernie Anderson, doppiatore e intrattenitore notturno: il pornocinema fa da chiave di lettura degli anni '70 libertari e trasgressivi, ma è anche l'altra faccia dell'industria hollywoodiana, un mondo a parte che il giovane sceneggiatore-regista racconta con affettuosa e lucida partecipazione: "sa parlare di sesso e di droga con leggerezza ironica, rifuggendo sia il paternalismo che il trionfalismo" (E. Martini). Evidenti influenze di Altman (per la coralità del racconto), Scorsese, Demme e Tarantino.

Notata dal capo di una orchestrina e compositore di canzoni - Ike Turner - costui ne valuta il talento, la lancia con il nome di Tina in varie tournée, se ne innamora ricambiato: il duo, sposatosi, comincia a far dollari e dischi. Ma Ike non solo è un manager esigente che litiga sempre per imporre il proprio tipo di canzoni, ma è anche un uomo violento e duro, che alterna carezze e doni a botte ed umiliazioni. Alla fine ribellatasi e chiesto il divorzio, Tina vince la causa e lascia al marito denaro ed investimenti, purchè le resti il proprio nome artistico.
