A Thin Place

Grace, a young heroin addict and Jamie, her alcoholic doctor, imprisoned by the horror of addiction and sexual co-dependency take a powerful natural hallucinogenic in order to travel the spiritual road to recovery. Whilst seeking the truth to their present and past behaviour but driven by self-obsession and malevolent denial, far from leading to salvation, the road they actually travel leads them to a place from which they may never return. A place where the truth is more horrific than the lies they tell themselves. One person from a past that connects them both holds the key to their new place of captivity and that person is in no hurry to leave.

Tutto comincia da un tessuto, che, come motivo dominante, ha delle foglie gialle e rosse su fondo blu. La stoffa non convince del tutto il direttore di un'impresa tessile, che si scontra subito con il suo consulente artistico. Anche lo stilista che viene incaricato di disegnare il modello non si può dire che abbia una sessualità del tutto normale. Finalmente il vestito viene messo in vendita in un negozio. La prima donna che lo indossa è piuttosto anziana e, malgrado ciò, le si risvegliano strani desideri che le saranno fatali. Indossato da Johanna suscita nel controllore di un treno e di un autobus insaziabili desideri.

Non va bene quasi a nessuno. Sergio Citti, alla sua terza regia dopo le collaborazioni con Pasolini, propone uno spaccato, tutt'altro che roseo, di umanità e di comportamenti. L'ispirazione c'è, molte trovate sono abili, il ritmo è buono.

The style is somewhat similar to that of the classic Hard Grit, in that it provides a historical perspective to the climbing of the area. In this case Bohusln on the Swedish west coast. We also get to meet and listen to some of the climbers who, through the decades, have been important to the development, of difficulty as well as ethics, and hear their thoughts on climbing and risk. As would be expected, these thoughts range from profound to cliche. Of course, there's also a lot of climbing, from moderates to FA's of cutting edge "death" routes.
