Nonostante vi siano almeno venti persone che hanno visto Sirhan Sirhan sparare a Kennedy, infatti, sono emersi nel corso del tempo svariati elementi che tendono decisamente a scagionarlo. Quello più importante è il numero totale di colpi sparati: furono 11, mentre la pistola di Sirhan poteva contenerne soltanto 8.
