As the investigation progresses, the situation becomes more complex and the book becomes increasingly well-known, raising numerous controversies. Plagued by doubts, the protagonist has to face facts: reality only exists in the imagination of individuals.

Devil In Dune

The film tells the story of a near future in which the earth is irreversibly sandy, as human emissions and rubbish exceed its carrying capacity. As plants and animals mutate to create the Earth's new masters, the "sand worms", which are slaughtering the planet and driving humans to the brink of extinction, the survivors are left to their own devices to find the only remaining refuge in the deep desert, the "Oasis". An exiled team of wealthy businessmen, scientists, security chiefs, mechanic families and gangsters set out on an adventure to find the Oasis in a special armoured vehicle, but the bloodthirsty insects are hot on their heels.

Carabina Quigley

Matthew Quigley è un tiratore eccezionale, che dalla natia America ed a seguito di un annuncio sui giornali, sbarca in Australia, ingaggiato dal proprietario di un ranch Elliott Marston, il quale lo ha destinato a sparare agli aborigeni. Quigley arriva al ranch portandosi dietro una prostituta (Cora), da lui difesa al porto contro tre uomini (per puro caso proprio quelli che Marston gli ha mandato in contro). A destinazione, il lavoro da svolgere non va affatto a genio al nuovo arrivato: avviene uno scontro con il ranchero e i suoi fidi e costui fa abbandonare in pieno deserto Quigley e la donna, che gli si è subito attaccata chiamandolo Roy (il nome del marito che l'ha lasciata in America spedendola in Australia, dopo che essa, nel corso di un attacco degli indiani, aveva fatto morire il bambino). Mentre gli aborigeni salvano i due nel deserto e li assistono, Marston comincia a inviare alcuni dei suoi per uccidere Quigley e Cora.

A Dooley mancano solo poche ore per andare finalmente in pensione, quando si imbatte in una rapina a mano armata ai danni di un'azienda informatica ad alta tecnologia. All'improvviso, si ritrova nella lista degli indiziati così lui e il Jerry Lee sono costretti ad indossare i panni degli investigatori privati e a scovare i veri colpevoli...
