Un evento sta cercando un pianista e Lucy potrebbe proporre a Schroeder di esibirsi per la prima volta a livello professionale, così il bambino le sarebbe enormemente grato per l’opportunità. Questa previsione si avvera, con somma gioia di Lucy, ma una doccia fredda è in arrivo: Piperita Patty infatti informa che lo spettacolo sarà un concerto rock, per cui Schroeder non potrà suonare i suoi brani preferiti di Beethoven. Il giovane pianista va su tutte le furie non appena scopre questa notizia e nemmeno la band organizzata da Charlie Brown, Snoopy e Pig-Pen riesce a convincerlo a suonare al concerto rock. Poco prima dell’inizio dell’evento, Lucy trova però una soluzione: farà lei l’esibizione, grazie ad alcune bombolette in grado di produrre musica, per colmare il vuoto lasciato da Schroeder, fermo nei suoi principi artistici che gli impediscono di suonare qualcosa di diverso dalla sua amata musica classica.
