Ali, un uomo cieco, sta cercando di togliersi la vita quando viene interrotto dal custode del palazzo in cui vive. Viene informato che la polizia sta cercando una donna in fuga che sembra essersi nascosta nell’edificio. Poco per volta, Ali scopre che la fuggitiva, Leila, si trova nel suo appartamento. La donna ha partecipato a una protesta operaia sfociata nel caos, ed è sconvolta per la scomparsa del figlio di quattro anni, avvenuta quando lei è stata allontanata a bordo di un furgone della polizia.
