The Island

On the island, they are important people, but outside, they would be one among hundreds of families struggling to make a living. The film narrates the struggles of the family and how ultimately in the end they manage to continue life on the island.

I quattro componenti la Band (Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, e Richard Wright) intervengono lungo tutto il film, dando preziose informazioni relative al processo di registrazione dell'Album. I vari temi dell'album sono discussi lungamente e i componenti della band vi portano dentro le tecniche di registrazione multitraccia per spiegarvi come e' stato realizzato ogni singolo pezzo. Il film contiene, inoltre, alcune performance individuali di Roger, David, e Richard su alcune tracce del disco. Questo e' un film che non puo' mancare nella videoteca di qualsiasi fan dei Pink Floyd ed e' un prezioso documento sulla storia del Rock universale.

Questo video racconta la storia della realizzazione di questa importante uscita attraverso nuove interviste con Roger Waters, David Gilmour e Nick Mason e interviste all'archivio del defunto Richard Wright. Sono inoltre presenti il designer di copertina Storm Thorgerson, il vocalist ospite Roy Harper, l'uomo che brucia nella copertina Ronnie Rondell ed altri coinvolti nella creazione dell'album.
