A middle-aged steelworker is content with his job and his family, but feels that something is missing in his life. On his 50th birthday, he stops in at a local bar for a drink to celebrate. He finds himself attracted to the young, very sexy barmaid--and, to his surprise, he finds that she is also very attracted to him.

Il film tratta dell'antico re d'Israele Davide. La storia comincia dopo una vittoria dell'esercito di Israele, guidato dal re Saul, sugli Amaleciti. Saul decise, contrariamente a quanto stabilito dalla legge di Dio (che parla per bocca del profeta Samuele), di discutere un possibile trattato. Così Samuele vanifica ogni tentativo di dialogo uccidendo il re degli Amaleciti e dicendo a Saul che Dio lo priverà del regno. A questo punto la scena si sposta nella casa di Iesse di Betlemme, presso il quale Samuele si reca per scegliere tra i suoi figli un re per Israele. Tra questi vi è il giovane Davide che successivamente prenderà il posto di Saul come re d'Israele.

Tjorven, Batsman, and Moses

Vesterman has found a young seal in his fishing nets in the outskirts of the archipelago. When he comes back to the Saltkråkan island he gives the seal to Tjorven, who names it Moses. Peter Malm, a visitor who works at the Zoological Institute in Uppsala, wants to buy the seal, but Tjorven says it's not for sale. Vesterman is in need of money and tries to get the seal back, to sell it to Peter. The children have to hide the seal, so he won't find it. Pelle's rabbit Jocke and one of Söderman's lambs are found bitten to death. The dog Båtsman is accused of those evil deeds, which means that Tjorven's father has to shoot her dog. In the last minute Söderman finds out that a fox is the perpetrator. Peter Malm says he won't buy the seal. Vesterman is disappointed and the seal stays with the children.
