Ratt: Videos From The Cellar: The Atlantic Years

Ratt's VHS films put together all the videos the band ever made. In a time when MTV was in full swing, and hair metal was all the rage, bands like Ratt were all over TV and the videos were as sleazy and cheesey as anything you would see on MTV at the time. As you watch the videos from Ratt, you notice how they evolved over the years and what became more imortant to them in the end as to how they wanted to be percieved. Expensive, flashy clothes, make-up, and of course, being surrounded by scantily clad, cleavage bearing girls. In 1986, this was loads of fun, and videos like "Lay It Down" were some of the most watched and popular videos on MTV. Looking back on them now, they were a product of their time, and the overindulgence and silliness of it all seems rather dated. The earlier ones like "Back For More", and "Wanted Man", were done at a time when the band had yet to reach million selling status.

Life of a Mutt

Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Through the seven “wandering” characters that we follow at different ages, from birth to old age, we witness their dignified struggle for survival. At the cemetery, in an abandoned factory, in an asylum, in a landfill, in places full of sorrow, our heroes search for love and togetherness. By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.

Martian

Anche il padre, testimone di questo lento suicidio, è incapace di gestire tanta sofferenza ma tenta almeno di “esserci”, la madre è mancata da qualche anno e ha lasciato un grande vuoto. Quando dovrà andare a lavorare nella cooperativa di pulizie del Bambin Gesù è convinto che questa esperienza, a contatto con i bambini malati, lo ucciderà.

Il mantenuto

Stefano Gardelli, un onesto impiegato, diviene - suo malgrado e senza rendersene conto - l'amico ed il protettore di una ragazza di facili costumi. Perseguitato dai veri sfruttatori della donna, Gardelli è sottoposto anche alla sorveglianza della polizia, messa in allarme persino dalla partecipazione dello sfortunato giovane ad una riunione sindacale, a cui prendono parte alcune ragazze della ditta presso cui lavora. Anche il presidente della società, da cui Gardelli dipende, cade nell'equivoco e licenzia il giovanotto, che tuttavia è riassunto in servizio, quando finalmente la situazione viene chiarita. Nel frattempo, Gardelli è preso di mira da una vedova, che desidera averlo al fianco anche nella conduzione di una grossa azienda, di cui è proprietaria. Ma Gardelli non sopporta una condizione di evidente inferiorità e dipendenza e fugge lontano, definitivamente solo.
