Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Dopo diverse tournée e un disco realizzato, viene pubblicata in DVD la ripresa del concerto tenuto dalla formazione il 23 luglio 2009 nell’ambito del Festival di Villa Arconati. E, forse, in questo modo si entra meglio e in maniera più naturale rispetto al disco nelle atmosfere cercate dal pianista con il progetto Carioca. La regia – attenta ai particolari, calda nei colori scelti e nelle inquadrature, senza orpelli inutili – mette in evidenza la musica e le tante anime ch si agitano nel mondo brasiliano di Bollani: il virtuosismo, la voglia di divertirsi, l’eleganza e un sereno tocco di saudade. Stefano Bollani è senz’altro il protagonista del video. Se in parte questo è dovuto alla predisposizione del pianista ad essere un vero e proprio mattatore e a saper dominare il palcoscenico attraverso lo strumento e le parole, molto è dovuto alle scelte della regia che soffermano spesso sul pianista e lo pongono costantemente al centro del racconto visivo.
