Nobuko tried to be successful as an actress in Tokyo (stage name ‘Nonko’), but wasn’t popular. She married her manager and soon divorced. Now a once-divorced woman in her mid-30s, she returns home to the Shinto shrine that her family runs, to help out with domestic chores. Her father is always in a stubborn rage, her mother is always trying to calm things down. However, Nonko’s married sister, who already has a daughter, scathingly says of Nonko, “It’s all over for her.”

A beautiful mother and her two daughters run a bar in a town. They have a dream of becoming rich, reforming the building, and living as celebrities. With no chance of their dream coming true with just their everyday earnings, they had another face - blinding the elderly with their beauty, putting on insurance coverage and seeking to get rich quick by murdering. However, their scheme begins to collapse from one little mistake.

Uccellacci e uccellini

Totò e suo figlio Ninetto vagano per le periferie e le campagne circostanti la città di Roma. Durante il loro cammino incontrano un corvo. Il corvo narra loro il racconto di Ciccillo e Ninetto, due monaci francescani a cui San Francesco ordina di evangelizzare i falchi ed i passeri. I due frati non riusciranno a raggiungere il loro obiettivo, perché, pur essendo riusciti ad evangelizzare le due "classi" di uccelli, non avranno posto fine alla loro feroce rivalità: per questa mancanza verranno rimproverati da San Francesco ed invitati ad intraprendere nuovamente il cammino di evangelizzazione. Chiusa la parentesi del racconto, il viaggio di Totò e Ninetto prosegue; il corvo li segue e continua a parlare in tono intellettualistico e altisonante. I protagonisti, in un contesto fortemente visionario, incontrano altri personaggi. Alla fine del film i due, stanchi delle chiacchiere del corvo, lo uccidono e se lo mangiano.

Wandering Ginza Butterfly

La capobanda Nami (Meiko Kaji) va in prigione per aver ucciso un membro di un gruppo yakuza. Al suo rilascio, tre anni dopo, disonorata, è confinata a vivere nel mondo oscuro di sex-club e di bande di strada. Torna in città per vivere con uno zio, proprietario di sala biliardi, e dopo essersi fatta amica il protettore Ryuji (Tsunehiko Watase), ottiene un lavoro come hostess in un club del quartiere chic di Ginza, dove negozi lussuosi e luci al neon nascondono un oscuro mondo fatto di crimine e mercimonio sessuale. Ma quando una gang rivale tenta di prendere il controllo del club, Nami si trova invischiata in una violenta lotta che la costringe a brandire una stecca per difendere gli affari di suo zio, e, infine, una spada corta per seminare una sanguinosa vendetta sui suoi nemici.
