The Last Video Store

After a Gold Coast video rental store is robbed, Gary the store owner installs security cameras store wide. Unbeknown to the staff, Gary uses the cameras to capture an emerging love story unfold between two of his young employees Andrew and Stacy. Stacy's ex-boyfriend Damian a twisted criminal with a terrifying secret, returns to the store to make trouble for the young lovers. This conflict culminates in a dramatic showdown amidst the Comedy, Drama and Horror sections. The Last Video Store examines the themes of, movie nostalgia, unrequited love, bravery and the human cost of late returns.

Dopo aver mostrato i locali della caserma e la vita che vi si conduce arriva il momento dell'azione. In un palazzo una donna sembra aver perso la ragione. La pattuglia, accompagnata dalla polizia, entra nel suo appartamento e scopre un essere femminile imbrattato di sangue che si scaglia con violenza verso un vigile del fuoco cercando di morderlo. Mentre si tenta di mettere la situazione sotto controllo e i vari inquilini cercano di comprendere cosa stia accadendo il palazzo viene isolato e nessuno può uscirne. Scott, il cameraman di Angela, continua a riprendere.

La vittoria si fa complicata quando i giovani cominciano a morire uno dopo l'altro. Non bastasse l'overdose di Grande Fratello in tv, tocca ora sorbirselo anche al cinema: e sebbene nel calderone gli sceneggiatori trovino spazio anche per un traffico di snuff-movies e per la strage maniacale in stile Venerdì 13, il risultato è forse addirittura più imbarazzante dell'omologo catodico. Una stupidaggine clamorosa, che anche un pubblico cerebroleso farebbe fatica ad apprezzare.
